Montreal, May 15, 2010 - Virage Simulation delivers a car driving simulator to the Center for Addiction & Mental Health (CAMH).
Virage Simulation Inc., a Canadian leader in car and truck driving simulator products, services and turnkey-training solutions, delivered a VS500M car driving simulator to the Center for Addiction & Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto, Ontario.
Supported by the Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI), the VS500M car driving simulator is part of a large-scale project that will focus on transforming lives across six research themes: Schizophrenia, Mood Disorders, Addictions, Community Health & Knowledge Exchange, Neuroimaging, Pharmacogenetics and Neuroscience. CAMH expects their research on the simulator to lead to better public policy tools to reduce the number of deaths and injuries resulting from impaired driving associated with alcohol and drugs.
The Scenario Builder application delivered with the simulator will allow the researchers to design their own driving scenarios. Drivers’ performance measures can be captured and displayed in real-time or recorded for post-test analyses.
