Leading Edge Project Sponsored by the Quebec government’s Agence de l’efficacité énergétique of Quebec (AEEQ) and led by Virage Simulation

Montreal, 20 October, 2008 – Virage Simulation Inc., a Canadian leader in vehicle simulator products, services and turnkey training solutions, today announced that it will direct a AEEQ project with collaborative partners CAA-Quebec, CFTC and CFTR. The last two partners are two of the largest truck training centers in the North East Americas. In addition to designing a theory and practical course on energy-efficient driving methods, this large scale project will incorporate Virage Simulation's advanced driving simulator technology to enable drivers to see all the parameters and forces involved in energy efficient driving. One of the goals of the project is to evaluate the efficacy of driving techniques intended to better manage acceleration forces, the major source of fuel consumption during urban driving, according to Dr. Pierro Hirsch, Road Safety and Driver Training Researcher at Virage Simulaiton Inc.
